Skiing season is now well and truly upon us and we here at GBC are certainly excited at the prospect of hitting the slopes this winter. Though we are firm believers in “being prepared” so we will be making sure that we have the latest must-have skiing gadgets in our luggage when we rock up at our ski lodge. Here’s just a selection of the ski gadgets that we’ll be packing:
LIQUID IMAGE SKI GOGGLES
Goggles are an imperative for skiing but if you really want to make the most of your time on the slopes and give you the opportunity to relive your excellent skiing skills (or your epic slip/slide down the mountain) you’re going to need a pair of goggles with a camera and they don’t come much better than these Liquid Image Ski Goggles which boast an in-built, HD camera within the eyewear to record all the goings on as you tackle the various different pistes. Exceptional quality video and high visual appeal make these goggles the perfect choice for video loving skiers this winter.
SUUNTO AMBIT 2 SKI WATCH
You’ll need a reliable timepiece when you’re heading out onto the slopes this winter and you’ll be getting that and much, much more with the awesome Suunto Ambit 2 watch above. This epic offering boasts plenty of features that make it so popular amongst the skiing fraternity and just a few of its most impressive features include its GPS positioning, 3D compass, heart-rate monitor, barometer and the incredibly robust materials with which it is made that mean its well-suited to the rough and tumble of skiing.
In order to properly enjoy a ski trip, you’re going to need to know where the best snow is and that’s exactly what this awesome, and free, app that goes by the name of Salomon Powfinder is for. It will help ensure that you’ve got up to the minute information about the resort at which you are staying that has accurate forecasts and fresh powder information that you can react to before those out there who don’t have access to this data. A great little app that will add that extra level of security to your skiing adventure to make sure you don’t miss out on any freshly laid snow as this is invariably the best type to ski.
So, that’s our brief look at what we’ll be backing when we hit the slopes this winter but, as we’re firm believers in being prepared, we’ll certainly be taking our fair share of rechargeable batteries with us as well because you never know what you’ll need them for when you’re up in the mountains – be it torches, remotes or any manner of technology, you can’t overstate the importance of having a decent stockpile of batteries with you for any trips away.
