Since its inception in 2006, Symmetry Recordings has grown to be one of the most reliable record labels for quality and soul within drum and bass.
Started by Break it originally served as a medium for bringing productions exclusively of his own to the world. But as respect and demand for the Symmetry sound grew, so did the range of contributors to the label.
Octane & DLR feature on The Other Side, we caught up with them at the album’s launch party (Xtrah makes a guest appearance):
Sato, Emperor and Villem saw releases on Symmetry over the past 12 months and now comes The Other Side: A various artists compilation album that brings Xtrah, Ulterior Motive, Octane & DLR and Prolix (amongst many others) to the now mighty roster.
The good people over at Circa decided to squeeze as many of these artists as they could into Hidden nightclub for a launch party to remember. Featuring sets from some of the album’s key players, the night had enticed a diverse crowd from far and wide to turn up; even Icicle and Codebreaker were about for the celebrations. The good vibes of the night were an accurate reflection of the human spirit so clearly present in Symmetry releases.
Between Xtrah’s double-drops and the man himself’s set, we managed a quick catch up with Break:
The first vinyl plate has already dropped and the second will be available with the full CD/Digital release on the 22nd October.
