Womb (The japanese prononciation is “HUMU“), situated in Shibuya is one of the biggest venues in Tokyo. It’s located in the centre of a network of alley ways and side streets in West Shibuya, it can be quite tricky to find if you’re new to the city. The club has 4 floors with bars installed at each level. The ceiling is high in the main room with a huge mirror ball hanging in the centre and high tech laser lighting system. The Sound system is world class as well as the DJ booth set up. This venue was voted number two in the world by the readers of DJMag, with the main focus being on the club’s incredible, state of the art sound system, crystal clear high end and immense bass response.
Once inside the the venue you can witness the best house and drum & bass DJs in the world. The club caters for a wide selection of genres, therefore the crowd can be varied. There is a massive number of regular techno and drum and bass events attracting sell out crowds and international artists. A list names to have graced the decks at Womb include Andy C, 2ManyDJs, Vicious Circle, Marky, The Chemical Brothers, John Digweed, Friction and Richie Hawtin, to name a few.
The door rules is over 20′s with valid photo ID. You can also register your fingerprint with the club, you don’t need ID and you get a member’s discount.
The entrance fee is around 4000 yens and the price of a bottle of vodka is around 10000 yens.
