Originated in 2008, The Relentless Energy Drink Freeze Festival has hosted some of the biggest names in Dance Music and Winter Sports. Held at London’s iconic Battersea Power Station, with live music across five stages, alpine bars and a massive shopping village. The Freeze festival is a rare chance to see some of the world’s elite Snowboarders competing at the highest level. Past events have hosted superstar athletes such as Ulrich Badertsher, Roope Tonteri, Marko Grilc and Kamie Nicholls. The competition gets fierce in the World Cup of Snowboarding, where the highest ranked riders go to head to head. The Whitelines Battle of Britain is a more home-grown affair, with the top 16 British boarders.
Skiing plays a massive part, with the best 36 freestyle skiers in the world hitting the slopes. Sit back and enjoy a fast paced spectacle, witnessing the best ski athletes on the planet, such as Bene Mayr, Matt Riddle, James Woods, Oscar Harlaut and Matt Walker. The highlight event is the Ski Union Battle, inviting the best of the British, including a crowd favourite, big air competition. The snow runs are face paced and are equal to the worlds best ski resorts.
There are loads of retail outlets selling a range of wicked snowboard apparel and equipment. All of your favourite brands located in one place, in the centre of the city. Up coming hardware and products are show cased, a really great chance to see whats forthcoming in the 2013 season. Ski resorts and snow travel companies set up stalls where you can pick up cheap deals if you fancy hitting the slopes. Nearby, you can check out the Relentless mountain bike riders tearing it up on the specially built ramp and bike park.
Now for the music, Freeze has a stepped it up this year, headlining the event, will be Public Enemey, Mark Ronson, Zane Low, Grandmaster Flash, Stanton Warriors, DJ EZ and DJ Shadow. Furthermore, DJs playing the best Drum and Bass and Dubstep records, will keep the crowd pumping til the very last second. A truly epic dance adventure, with a varied selection, spread across two days of ice-cold raving!
